Hi Tom, this is one of best panted tank I have ever seen [:0][:0][:0]

Compliments for the outstanding results that you has been able to obtain with this tank

Best Regards

Claudio
Oh it has some more work that needs done to it.
It's a long way off from me being happy, at least it is presentable at this point though.

It's not my personal favorite, but it is big and has a lot of things going on.

Where have you been lately?
I hope all is well with you!

I have a lot of techy work yet to do on this tank, but after that and some training for the client, I think the tank will be a lot farther along.

I'd like to get the office tank done for him so we can get the Discus out of there and then add the remaining Altums and add more fish for the schools, cardinals, pencil fish, cories, emperor tetras etc, hatchets etc etc.

Large fish look good in the tank for photos, but the smaller schools and the cryptic pleco or apisto etc is a treat for the eyes in person.

Tom Barr

I will be going to the client's next month to add some interesting CO2 systems.
I'll take some more pictures then.

I've been pretty busy lately, keeping a low profile... Been concentrating on reefs a lot and conducting some of those oxygen related tests we spoke about a few years ago. As always summer brings about different hobbies so now that it's over I should be getting back into the swing of things. What oxygen levels are you maintaining in this tank?

We have a O2 metering controller using a polargraphic probe, so we set the turn off at 8ppm at 83F. It goes up to about 11ppm if the lights are full blast. That's about 120% saturation for O2 and reaches as high as 150-160%.
We also use a special solenoid that does not produce a spark when switched, being pure O2, a spark would not be a good thing!
Boom!

O2 measurements give excellent in situ measures of photosynthetic growth.
I'm not sure why more planted aquarist do not use them if they are interested in plant growth. Yourself, me, George Booth are the only other hobbyists that have ever used them that I know of.

The polargraphic probes are very nice, calibration is much easier.
Cost more, but they are worth it for me:)

I've been erogating O2 without control, very conservative amounts obviously. I'm still convinced that O2 is responsible for the "competitive advantage" plants have over algae... or should I say I'm still convinced it has nothing to do with competition over nutrients :-)

I'd actually like to discuss another concept with you but I don't want to hijack this thread...
